” Treasure Valley Wine Society is hosting a Wine Tasting / Buffet Dinner on Wednesday, November 13 at Meadowlake Village on Clocktower Drive just East of St Luke’s Meridian in the Grand Lodge building from 7pm – 9pm . 6 wines $30/person includes a dinner menu prepared by a European trained chef and staff at Meadowlake based loosely on the first thanksgiving using mostly foods available then. Early American native grape wines will be featured from states that were part of the original 13 colonies. Vitis Labrusca, Vitis aestivalis and Vitis Rotundifolia wines are as follows:
Isabella Rose’ from NY Fingerlakes district, a Brotherhood Rosario red from Hudson Valley, NY [the winery has been open since Huguenots founded it in 1839 and makes Sacramental wines which kept it viable during Prohibition].
Middle Atlantic Delaware white wine and a Norton dry red. Southern states will be represented by fermented Muscadine and Scuppernong beverages. And there may be a wee bit of Norton Port as well as coffee. Bring at least two wine tasting glasses.
