TVWS Holds Their Annual Picnic

10July2013_1_Picnic-Indian-Creek_Tree-CarvingOn July 10th, the Treasure Valley Wine Society (TVWS) held their Annual Picnic at the Indian Creek Winery in Kuna, Idaho. Our thanks go out to the winery for hosting us again this year, as they have done so graciously for the past several years. This year, the TVWS donated to the winery a new gas BBQ grill in appreciation for their kindness to the group. The photo to the left found on a tree on the winery grounds, is interesting. Wonder who carved it? We may never know.
The event was well attended for a summer outing. Event attendance usually drops in the summer in Boise. Not only with the TVWS, but with other organizations too. People here in Boise have so much to do in the summer. But those 25 or so people who attended, enjoyed themselves in the 102 degree heat under the shade of the trees and with a cool glass of Indian Creek Winery wine. And then too, it was great that Garry and Donna Schulz had the time to stop in and say hello while they were on their whirlwind trip to the Northwest from Virginia. Garry is a Past President of the TVWS. It was good to see them again. Here are some photos from the event. Remember that in August there is no tasting and in September, we are raising the event costs to $25.00 per member and $35.00 per guest. Left-Click any of these photos to see enlarged. Cheers!

Some of the food on the table. We asked that everyone bring a side dish and the meat of your choice to grill. This type of Pot-Luck always works out well for us. The TVWS then buys a case of wine for the party.

Another great event by the Treasure Valley Wine Society. This one was less formal and very relaxing. Thanks to everyone who helped to make this such a success. Your work is greatly appreciated. See you at the September tasting. Remember the price change for the tastings. Cheers.
